Caring for your pieces
Sterling silver
Silver darkens naturally as it meets air and skin — that's part of its character. To brighten it, polish gently with a soft silver cloth. Avoid dips and harsh cleaners, especially around stones.
Stones
Turquoise, larimar and abalone are softer and more porous than most gems. Take pieces off before swimming, showering or applying lotion, sunscreen or perfume, and keep them away from long stretches of direct heat.
Storage
Store each piece on its own in a dry pouch or lined box so stones don't scratch and silver tarnishes more slowly. A small silica packet in your jewelry box helps in humid weather.
